A Lifetime of Healthy Smiles Starts With a Strong Foundation

A healthy smile plays an important role in your child’s growth and development, from their earliest dental visits through their teenage years and into adulthood. However, we understand that keeping up with dental appointments can be challenging when your family’s schedule is already full.

Between school, work, activities and everyday responsibilities, finding time for everyone’s dental care is not always easy. That is why we focus on making each visit as convenient and stress-free as possible for busy families.

Our team is happy to offer flexible scheduling options and group appointments whenever possible, helping you fit dental care into your routine with less hassle. We want every visit to feel simple, comfortable and welcoming for both parents and children.

Throughout your child’s life, they will experience many important dental milestones. We look forward to supporting your family and helping your child build a healthy smile that lasts a lifetime.

Our Children’s Dentistry services

Child’s First Appointment

A child’s first visit to the dental office is an important step in building healthy habits and creating a positive relationship with oral care. This early experience can help shape the way children view dental visits for years to come, supporting a lifetime of confident smiles.

Fluoride Treatment

Protect and strengthen tooth enamel while helping guard molars against cavities and tooth decay.

Orthodontics for Teens

For many young adults, orthodontic treatment is an important milestone that helps improve smile confidence and supports a healthier, more comfortable smile.

Pediatric Treatment & Education

Ongoing dental care from infancy through the teenage years, designed to support children and provide parents and guardians with guidance at every stage of their child’s oral health journey.

Teeth Cleaning for Kids

Regular children’s dental visits help track healthy oral development, remove plaque buildup, and reduce the risk of dental problems as their smiles grow.

At What Age Should I Bring My Child to the Dentist?

Many children begin getting their first teeth around six months of age, making this an ideal time to start thinking about their dental care. It is recommended that children have their first dental visit by their first birthday or within six months of their first tooth appearing.

Early dental visits help your child become comfortable with the dental office while allowing our team to monitor their developing smile and provide guidance on healthy oral care habits.

If you notice anything unusual, such as signs of discomfort, pain or changes in your child’s mouth, it is important to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. Addressing concerns early can help support your child’s comfort and long-term oral health.

If your child has not had their first dental appointment yet, it is never too late to begin. We welcome children of all ages and are here to help them build a positive relationship with dental care.

Accommodating Your Whole Family

We know that managing a busy family schedule can be challenging. Between work, school, activities and everyday responsibilities, finding time for everyone’s dental appointments is not always easy.

That is why we make family dental care as convenient as possible by offering the option to schedule multiple appointments together whenever possible. This helps your family spend less time coordinating visits and makes it easier to keep everyone’s smiles healthy.

Give our team a call today, and we would be happy to help arrange appointments that work for your entire family.

to schedule an initial consultation & exam.

Your consultation will include an examination of everything from your teeth, gums and soft tissues to the shape and condition of your bite. Generally, we want to see how your whole mouth looks and functions. Before we plan your treatment we want to know everything about the health and aesthetic of your smile, and most importantly, what you want to achieve so we can help you get there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Although baby teeth are temporary, they play a very important role in your child’s overall development. Primary teeth are much more than placeholders for adult teeth. They help support your child’s ability to eat, speak clearly and develop healthy habits that can last well into the future.

Healthy baby teeth help guide the proper spacing and alignment of permanent teeth as they begin to develop. They also support your child’s facial growth and contribute to the appearance of their smile.

A child’s early experiences with their teeth can also affect their confidence. When children feel comfortable smiling, laughing and showing their teeth, they are more likely to build positive habits and feel confident in their smile as they grow.

It is also important to address dental discomfort early. Even mild tooth pain that a child learns to tolerate can impact their daily life. Ongoing discomfort may affect eating habits, including how they chew, which foods they choose and how much they enjoy mealtimes.

Taking care of primary teeth helps give children the healthy foundation they need for strong smiles, proper development and positive dental experiences throughout their lives.

Every child is different, so the length of their first dental visit can depend on their comfort level, needs and how they respond during the appointment. We understand that a new experience can feel unfamiliar, especially for younger children, so we take the time needed to help them feel relaxed and comfortable.

In most cases, a child’s first dental appointment lasts about one hour. During this visit, our team will gently introduce your child to the dental environment, check their smile and provide helpful guidance for maintaining healthy teeth at home.

Our goal is to create a positive first experience that helps your child feel confident about future dental visits.

Children, toddlers and teens should visit the dentist regularly, just like adults do. In most cases, we recommend scheduling a dental checkup and cleaning every six months to help monitor your child’s growing smile and maintain good oral health.

Regular visits allow our team to keep track of your child’s dental development, provide preventive care and help identify any concerns before they become bigger problems.

If your child experiences any signs of discomfort between appointments, it is important to schedule a visit sooner. Watch for symptoms such as:

* Complaints of tooth or jaw pain
* Frequently rubbing or holding their jaw
* Avoiding hard, crunchy or cold foods
* Changes in eating habits or behaviour

If you notice any of these signs, our team is here to help. Booking an appointment early can help address concerns quickly and keep your child’s smile healthy and comfortable.

A cavity is a small hole or area of decay that forms in a tooth and can continue to grow over time if it is not treated. While some cavities cause noticeable pain or sensitivity, others may not have any symptoms at first. This is why regular dental visits are important, as your child’s dentist can identify concerns early.

Cavities should be treated as soon as possible, even when they affect baby teeth. Untreated cavities can become larger, cause discomfort and may lead to more serious dental problems, including infection.

The main cause of cavities is the buildup of bacteria and plaque on the teeth. When plaque interacts with sugars and acids from foods and drinks, it can weaken the tooth enamel and contribute to tooth decay.

Some common factors that can increase the risk of cavities include:

* Frequent consumption of sugary foods and drinks
* Acidic beverages and snacks
* Inconsistent brushing and flossing habits
* Plaque buildup that is not removed regularly

Every child is different, and some children may naturally be more likely to develop cavities than others. Regular dental checkups, good oral hygiene habits and healthy food choices can all help protect your child’s smile.

Your oral health involves much more than just your teeth. Your mouth is a connected system made up of your teeth, gums, tongue, cheeks, joints, bones and other supporting tissues. When one part of your oral health is affected, it can impact the health and comfort of your entire mouth.

Healthy gums provide important support for your teeth and help protect the structures that keep your smile strong. That is why paying attention to your gum health is just as important as caring for your teeth.

Signs such as swollen, irritated, sore or bleeding gums should not be ignored. These symptoms may be an early warning sign of an underlying dental concern that requires attention.

Maintaining healthy gums through regular brushing, flossing, professional cleanings and routine dental visits can help protect your smile and support your overall oral health. If you notice changes in your gums, our team can help identify the cause and recommend the right care.

Grover dental is a excellent dentist practice if you have anxiety. They're very mindful of their patients and they make sure you're doing okay throughout the whole process. If you need a minute they'll accommodate you as best as they can. I had an anxiety attack through a filling getting done and both Dr. Whig as well as his assistant Zel did a great job talking me through the attack and gave me time to settle. Would highly recommend

I just recently had a cleaning, x rays, and check up done. I was treated by Amanda and she was a phenomenal hygienist. Attentive, funny, kind, and knowledgeable. Even with interruptions during the cleaning, she handled it very professionally and made sure I was comfortable. I will definitely request her to be my hygienist in the future! Excellent service from the front desk staff and dentist as well!
