Dr. Mark was born & raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He received an Honours degree in biology from Dalhousie University. Dr. Mark then attended the University of Western Ontario for his Master’s Degree & attended dental school there as well.
While attending dental school at Western, he was the first-year class president & then was the first dental school student to be elected to the University Senate. Upon graduating in 1984, he began practising in Hamilton.
In 1996 Dr. Mark completed the Esthetic Continuum course at the University of Buffalo to enhance his clinical skills & more recently has become a certified Invisalign provider. A lifelong student, Dr. Mark regularly exceeds the Royal College’s mandatory continuing education requirements & is a member of several local & online study groups.
In his spare time Dr. Mark loves scuba diving & underwater photography. Dr. Mark enjoys spending time with his family & has recently been honing his culinary skills.

The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and feels more like a boutique practice than a typical dental office. The little touches—fresh coffee, cookies, and water in the reception area—make every visit that much more comfortable.

Grover dental is a excellent dentist practice if you have anxiety. They're very mindful of their patients and they make sure you're doing okay throughout the whole process. If you need a minute they'll accommodate you as best as they can. I had an anxiety attack through a filling getting done and both Dr. Whig as well as his assistant Zel did a great job talking me through the attack and gave me time to settle. Would highly recommend

I just recently had a cleaning, x rays, and check up done. I was treated by Amanda and she was a phenomenal hygienist. Attentive, funny, kind, and knowledgeable. Even with interruptions during the cleaning, she handled it very professionally and made sure I was comfortable. I will definitely request her to be my hygienist in the future!
Excellent service from the front desk staff and dentist as well!

I always have a great experience at Grover Dental Care and I especially want to recognize Nichole at the front desk. Nichole is always so friendly and welcoming—she greets me with a smile every time I walk in and makes me feel comfortable right away. She is incredibly helpful, whether it’s answering questions, helping with appointments, or making sure everything runs smoothly.
Her professionalism, kindness, and positive attitude never go unnoticed. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about patients and goes above and beyond to provide excellent service. Nichole is a big reason why I enjoy coming to this office. Highly recommend this dental office.

I’ve been to this dental office multiple times and have consistently had a great experience. From the moment you walk in, the staff is welcoming and friendly. Nichole has been especially helpful with my insurance questions and appointment scheduling, always making the process smooth and stress-free. Her professionalism and kindness really stand out.
